Shaq: "I've got 3-4 years left."

When asked in a Sportscenter interview how many years he had left, Shaq's answer was :

"3 to 4, 3 to 4. Most people would disagree, but when you think about it, I've been in the League 17 years, but I've only played 14. I've missed 3 years with injuries and such. So 3 to 4 years will be the answer."

Thoughts? I'd love if the big man could play that long. He's an amazing athelete.

if this training that he says he's been doing is really working then sure, he can go 3-4, but next year is a bad year for him trying to get a contract, because he will have to take less than he wants because the class coming out is so stacked

I believe Shaq can be an above average center for 3-4 years. This is not saying much in the NBA. He is not worth $30 million a year after next year. Maybe $5-7 after his contract is up.

This past season most people said he was done because he was too old, but he proved them wrong, as long as he can run and not get too tired i think he can go until he's 45 lol

I think he'd take less money. I mean he's showed by saying he'd come off the Bench that he's not selfish, and he's already done everything he can do, so at this point he's pretty much playing for the love of the game.

He should put up around 16/8, but he isn't going to play more than 60-70 games unless he is reduced to 20-25 minutes/game. But even then...

With Phoenix he had the best medical staff in the league and was given more days to rest so if Cleveland can keep him healthy I can see him for a least a few more.

I watched the interview as well, and thought "What happened to retiring after his current contract is up?" But, if he thinks he can play longer, more power to him.
