That is what I meant. Also when's the last time Phil Jackson actually coached???? Not trying to start stuff but you know what I mean, and I'm not the only one that thinks that.

Phil Jackson is not the greatest coach. He never built teams the way Red Auerbach did or even the way Pat Summit, Dean Smith, or Coach K have. He is one of the best but not the best. Stats are not everything in coaching.
oh and I am a Bulls fan so I like Jackson(no Celtics bias)

What exactly does it mean when people say "he never built teams?" Do you expect him to be a GM too or something? Sounds kinda ridiculous to me.
The way I look at it, Phil Jackson is the best at managing talent so players are able to perform at their highest level. Which to me, is the whole point of being a coach.

I think it means that he was didn't draft or put together the team. Meaning he came in after Shaq and Kobe were there and after Jordan and co. were there. I disagree with it, but I think that's what they are trying to say
