Star Forward Nash Re-Signs With Blue Jackets
Forward Rick Nash, 25, has re-signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets, inking an eight-year contract worth $7.8 million per year.
Last season, Nash was fifth in NHL scoring with 40 goals, adding 39 assists in 78 games played.
He was the first overall pick in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

Hmm not bad at $7.8 mill/year, only $.3 mill more than Heatley lol, and Nash is a better two way player.

A great price as not always is it the price of the player but what they bring to the team in working with the community. Rick has been the face of Columbus since his inception in 2002 and he has been very happy in Columbus and the fans identify with him as the Face of the Franchise. Glad to see him ink a deal with the small market club. I love these type of signings.
