I moved this one to card talk since basketball chat isn't card-related specifically.
When I scan my cards, they typically come out over 1,000 pixels. I resize them using the free image software editing program Gimp so that they come out to about 665x850 in pixel size. I then upload them to my Bucket. PhotoBucket automatically reduces bigger sized pictures to thumbnail size, except when you click on the pictures - then they enlarge to whatever the original size was when a person uploaded them.
Hope this answers the question.

not sure which scanner your using, but after you scan a card it will pop up for editing etc...well what i do is i normally crop off the excess scanned portion and then theres normally an image drop down menu were you are able to resize etc, my normal size i use for my cards is 640X480 which is not to big or small some like to use 800X600 its really up to you how big you want the pic, so i hope this helps you out and you can also do editing on Photobucket also, But watch out on the Resizing, Once you reduce the size of a pic and save it you cannot re-enlarge it ok, Good luck.

Pretty much the same as everybody else so far.
Set scanner to 300 pixels. I like a big picture so I can crop as close to the card border as possible.
Scan card.
Crop as necessary.
Reduce the picture size with your photo editing software. I use Photoshop. I reduce the card height to 600. Most editors automatically constrain proportions so the whole picture size is reduced.
Save and upload.

set your resolution to about 300dpi
depending on the brand of scanner, i have a canon and it automatically crops the scans for multiple images, but if yours doesnt there are plenty of free programs that will...paint.net , GIMP...
