Love this signing! Just saw it myself on TSN. I was hoping for a more than a 1 year contract, but I wonder if that's because Gustavsson wants to see what the adjustment is like.

Wow. The signings continue. My leafers are not going to look the same this year! I'm excited!

I'm pretty sure the reason it's a one year contract is because Gustavsson has to be signed to an entry level contract. Correct me if I'm wrong, but entry level contracts are only for players under 25. Since Gustavsson is 24, the max deal he could sign was 1 year. He'll become a RFA next season, and the Leafs can make a longer term deal. I'm not sure when the LEafs can start negotiating a contract with him. I guess probably after next season before July 1st.

He could only sign a 1 Year contrat Because of Entry Level contract
