    Michelle Obama's $5,950 purse

Glad she is showing how thrifty she can be while Americans are losing jobs at a record pace.
Talk about luxury in the woods!

Michelle Obama showed off her more expensive taste in fashion by carrying a $5,950 VBH black alligator manila clutch while strolling the wooded landscape outside of Moscow, Russia this week.

isn't this what millionaires are supposed to do? Should she be walking around with a $24 clutch from JC Penney?

Were you quick to criticize Republicans when they spent $150,000 on Sarah Palin's outfits? How about Nancy Reagan who's inaugural ensemble included a $25,000 gown, a $10,000 mink coat, and $1500 alligator purse? What about Cindy McCain's $300,000 earrings?

I don't think it is a deal myself, like it has been pointed out, they are rich. However, the fact that Sara Palin's outfits received multiple pages of a thread, you would assume this has just as much right to be posted.

Right now, yes, I would prefer someone wearing the Cheryl Tiegs collection from K-Mart and a $9.99 purse from Sears. I understand they're rich and they can spend their money on whatever they want and I have no problem with that...but a thrifty person is thrifty in all aspects of life (I know from personal experience) and if she's not wasting any money on luxury items, that would carry over into other things as well.

So I'm not going to bash her for it, she can buy what she wants with her money...but I'd feel better if she was a more cost-conscious spender.

Versace, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Gucci...I'd be rocking all that crap...no doubt about it

Imagine being president and showing up to a foreign country with a suit from Men's Warehouse and loafers from Payless...your wife carrying a JC Penney clutch & watch from Wal-Mart...haha

Actually if you read the article it's a bag from the same company that cost $875 and wasn't the $6000 version. Now, I feel that $875 is just as outrageous for a bag or a clutch, but it's her money. If they found out tax payer money was used to pay for it then you may have an issue.

Also if you remember back a few months, Michelle was wearing many a frugal outfit from I believe J Crew a similar clothing store... can't remember. But again, if it's her money she wear $10,000 daisy dukes if she wants to.

We should be thanking her for wasting money on crap like that, after all it is going back into the economy.
