I can't wait! I dislike the crazy subscription pricing of the big named one, and you have to wait forever after sets are released to get pricing. This one sounds 100x's better already!
It makes sense to have a subscription based, simply because it's something that requires the staff to maintain very heavily. As long as it's reasonable (and I have no doubts about that), it's a win-win!

The subscription rates will be minimal. Also, this will be a different guide that the "other guide". The OPG is meant to be used as a Sale/Market Value guide as that's where all the numbered will come from. Every entry will be a confirmed sale of a card, not a suggested value for a card. This will save members a huge amount of time when researching price data on a card as it will utilize more than just sales for one place.
As Mike mentioned, VIPs will see discounts on the subscriptions, which is just another reason to become a VIP as it basically pays for itself. Pricing will not unveil until we get closer to launch...

Also, there will be rewards for inputting pricing. We will likely award Card Cash and if we find members that are good at it we may offer a OPG staff position.
