    1st UD Redemption Problem

    I have read all the complaints about UD redemption delays and problems and considered myself lucky. I have been an UD customer since 1990 and have never had a problem with customer service, bet it returning damaged cards or processing a redemption...That was until today.

    I opened a pack of 07-08 Fleer Ultra and got Redemption card # RED268 (don't know player). I scratched it, went to UD website and attempted to redeem the card. The message I got was:

    This redemption offer is now expired. Unfortunately, late entries cannot be honored and our inventory is now depleted. We apologize that we can no longer assist you with this promotion.

    According to the card back, the card can be redeemed as late as 09/15/10, so it is definitely not expired, nor is it late.

    I sent an e-mail to UD telling them to fix this and am waiting for a response.

    The plot thickens!

    Turns out that Card #RED268 is James Sheppard of the Minnesota Wild. Oddly enough, I already have a James Sheppard 07-08 Ultra RC that came via a different redemption card / code.

    Is it possible that UD will only allow the redemption of one card of a single player per household / address?

    The rules on the card back say "One trading card per reservation number". I believe that means one redemption per code, not per player. Besides, I have two different codes from two different redemption cards.

    Side Note: Now that I know who the player is, and that I already have the card, I am hoping UD offers some sort of substitution. Time will tell...

    Yeah I've had 3 Pacioretty Artifacts redemptions, so that's definitely not it.

    Hopefully you hear back from them soon - you won't get much out of it but at least you will get a card or two.

    I redeemed 2 1-2 Clearcut Combos of Paul and Peter Stastny. Got one already and the other is on the way. Only one is actually mine though and the other a friend pulled.

    By the sounds of things I suspect the error was just a blip and you'll end up with a James Sheppard duplicate!
    Hope it pans out that you get something else though...
    I regularly have waited over a week to hear back from UD via e-mail, you might have better luck calling on Monday?

    Rather than email, I suggest calling the 1-800 number. I would say your troubes are quite minor and they should be able to fix it. If anything, be polite and stay calm. Do not get mad at them or you likely won't get much service in return.

    06-07 Gretzky Letter Marks

    I can understand your frustration. I submitted an 06-07 SP Game Used Letter Marks Wayne Gretzky card back in 2007 and I still have not received it. I have emailed UD on many occassions and they still say that there is nothing they can do, if the player has not signed the card. I think that they should at least send me a Crosby Letter Marks card, since I'm sure they are around the same value these days.
