NHL's Top 50: Patrick Kane (No. 47)
FanHouse's Adam Gretz takes a look at his top 50 players in the NHL. Today's player: Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane.
It's not going to take long for Patrick Kane to move up these rankings. He's the youngest player, 20, to make my list, and he's the future of American hockey and some lucky team in the NHL. But will it be Chicago? During the NHL playoffs, Detroit head coach Mike Babcock talked about how he was patiently waiting for the salary cap to break up the Blackhawks' young core (and he wasn't joking). At the time, I argued that Chicago should be in good shape when it comes to keeping it's core in place, but a lot has changed since then. Could Kane be the odd man out in the future?

Who is this reporter, to say that kane is a better all around player than Toews. He must not watch much hockey.

Toews is awesome but I still think Kane is better all around.

Toews plays in all situations, (PK,PP) plays in front of the net and gets back to play D. Kane does not play on the PK and lots of times never gets back to the defensive zone. Kane hardly ever will get into traffic in front of the net.
Don't get me wrong I love having Kane on the Hawks, but I don't think he will have the all around game that Toews has. Hopefully Kane will develop into a consistent 40-50 goals per season player and pickup his all around game.
