Player Collectors Poll: What would you hate the least...

With so many players having changed teams in the last 2 weeks, including some NHLers heading to the KHL, a bit of a strange thought came to mind, and I thought I'd see what other player collectors think.

The big realization for me, was that I would rather see the player I collect go to the KHL, than get traded to another NHL team.

So, if you got to pick your poison, which of the following options would you choose:

I'd probably pick get traded, then there would still be cards to collect, lol.

Id say traded also since cards would still be made.

For sure traded to another team.

This is the thing I wonder about a lot of player collections. Are you collecting your favorite player, or your favorite player on your favorite team? I think in most cases both statments start out being true. I just think in a lot of cases, people start losing interest in the players they've collected once they've been traded from their favorite teams. If you can get past the "favorite player on my favorite team" and really have the guy be your favorite player.... regardless of where he ends up.... being traded 6 times won't matter. You'll still have fun collecting his cards.

Traded to another team, I chose the players I collect based on their skills and not on the team they play (played) for. Roy being traded to Colorado just meant I would have a more colorful collection and if Marty left New Jersey well, it would just bring more variety to that collection too :)

Hard to pick, but I said retires. I couldn't pick between retires and traded to another team, but then I thought about some guys I collect and wondered how I would feel if they went to a team I just can't stand....and that's what sealed the deal. My PC has a few guys who are retired (Belfour, Kurri, Fuhr, etc.) and for the most part, the cards I have of theirs range from different teams in my collection. But if I saw Kopitar or Stastny go to Detroit, I wouldn't stop collecting, but I also wouldn't be impressed.

    Therefore, retires.

traded, Schwarz playing in the Czech Republic league ended me collecting him but I'll be sticking with Bishop even if he is traded but it does help that he plays for the Blues now

That's why I don't really care about Bogosian's team, he can't go to a team that is worse than the Thrashers unless he goes to the Island, lol.
