White Whale Ebay Win!
I finally won one of my white whales today!

This is a great item as I of course am a John Smoltz fan while my brother used to be a big collector of Nolan Ryan cards, which is another player I've always had respect for. I tried to bid on this card a couple of years back and lost and wondered if I would ever get another chance. Only 35 made so I've had to keep a vigilant watch. Now I finally have it! I love this card, even if it was pricey, it's now my favorite of my ever growing collection.

not a white whale, but nice card non the less and a great price
a white whale is a printing plate that has an auto and or game used attached to it and is numbered 1/1..looks like this

Ah, I thought a white whale was a card a trader had hunted a long time for. Anyways, I'm still very happy with my purchase.

Nope,a white whale is a card a collector has been hunting for a long time....topps just decided to use that term to describe their printing plates in ttt.
