How to get permission to send items?
Hi, I have seen success posts where it said
"ABC DEF c/o home and permission to send ball/picture"
I was wondering how you do that. Do you write it on a separate index card? Please lmk thanks

I would simply address it like you would a normal request. Not sure why you'd need to include anything else in the address.

I doubt he will respond..I would just try to send it out..usually if something has an autograph they send it back even if they wont sign..but molitor is pretty good with signin

I've seen people ask for permission like you are saying, especially if they want to send large amounts of something. I'd just write a brief letter asking if they would sign it and that they please respond. Still include a SASE so they can write you back. Its worth a try I guess but I don't think there is any certain format or trick to it.

I know people send a card to have signed but also ask if the can send a football or minihemlet at a later time.

def. send a card and ask if they would sign something else later. Nothing worse like sending out something expensive and never seeing it again. Cards can always be replaced, but mini helmets can get expensive

I have a few cards I want to get dual signed and I am thinking about sending Certified Mail or something on the 2nd autograph so someone at least has to pay attention to what it is and will hopefully send it back if the person will not sign.
On large items though a permission letter ahead of time might be good. I sent a letter to Shaun Rogers asking if he would sign a jersey for me. I even included my email address and cell number for his convenience but that probably just made me look like a stalker.

I've been sending out team photos for awhile. I always send the guys a note with a SASE first asking him if he would sign the item, and mention that I would be happy to pay any fees that he requires. I get about 80% of the letters back, and have yet to not receive an item after someone has written back and stated that they would sign.
