My dad is a big fan of jalapeños and most spicy foods.

I haven't really developed that palate..I like red peppers and a few other things here and there, but not much of it.

I don't really go out of my way to add stuff into making dishes hotter. I do love a good "hot" dish though. Jalapenos are a joke to me these days because there too weak. A good Tabasco sauce really does the trick too :). IDK if your area offers it Tiger, but there is a Pepper Jelly out there that isn't really hot per say but it tastes rather good IMHO. A good change of pace.

If you really want to have some fun though. Eat raw Habaneros those things will get you going for like 10-15 minutes until they pass through your system. I actually was dared to eat one twice and stupidly did. I couldn't hold down the second one but the first one kept me in a sweat for a good 20 minutes.

I do believe the only known pepper that is hotter then a Habanero is a Red Scarlet pepper. It looks like a cherry :). The guy who brought in a Habanero came into the bar one day and put one in a friends drink. Needless to say they got quite a laugh in watching him struggle and nearly having to take him to the hospital. It does sound quite funny HAHA

The Red Savina is hotter than a habenero and the world's hottest pepper is the Naga Jolokia pepper.

Funny you mention it...my grandpa owned and now my uncle owns a farmer's market type store...produce, crafts, jellies/jams/preserves, honey, etc. I started working there when I was 14, every summer for about 7 years, then off and on since then...actually just started working there again on Saturdays recently. We carry all kinds of pepper jellies and garlic jellies, stuff like that, and there are a lot of people who rave about them...but in 14 years of working there, I've never tried any of them. For jams, I think I'll stick to my strawberry and blackberry.

Oh I've had that experience when I was young and dumb. Of course that was when I wasn't used to hot foods at all, so I'd like to try it again sometime, but people don't bring them by the store as much as they used to.

I love eating hot and spicy stuff. Use to eat at least one habanero pepper with my meals to give it that extra kick. My tolerance level has been building up on them though. Time to move up to the Red Savina, then in time, the Naga Jolokia pepper.

I love to use hot peppers as well. I have not had anything higher than a habanero though. The first time I ate one I kept chewing on it because the heat wasn't instant. Well after a few more seconds the heat hit me and it was terrible, especially after chewing on them so the capsaicin was all over my mouth.
