    Another Post Office Rant....

Because SCF has rules and I am on the staff I am NOT allowed to say how I really feel...so let me choose my words carefully.

I mailed out two high-end cards today and asked the Post Office Clerk about DC and Insurance.

    Here is what I learned:

You can use DC for tracking, but if the package is lost or damaged, too bad. The package is not covered by insurance.

You can use Insurance, but then there is no way to track the package.

Okay....so I purchased Insurance and NOT the DC (have a receipt to show the packages were mailed, which proves mailing according to the Clerk).

The Clerk was kind enough to read me the back of the Insurance form which states for Filing Claims:

"Present the following documentation in support of your claim....(1) PS Form 1000...(2) the original date stamped mailing receipt...(3) evidence of value (i.e. sales slip, receipt...)

That last part (number 3) is the one that kills me....what the hey????

Evidence of value? I took insurance for a certain amount of money and you didn't ask for "evidence of value" at the time you sold me the insurance.

I asked the Clerk how do I prove what I shipped....guess what....she smiled and told me "don't know".

Don't know? You have to be joking!

Anyways...once this was all said and done I decided "Wait a minute! I want DC!"

Guess what...the packages "have been processed" and you cannot change the mailing method.

Long rant...but I'm so tired of the Post Office and their "don't know" or is it I "don't care" answers!
