Oswalt has already stated in the past he would not approve any trades.

In fact, he has dropped hints that he would consider retiring after his contract is up in 2011 or 2012 (don't remember exactly when).

Oz will be an Astros lifer the likes of Biggio, Bagwell (minor leagues notwithstanding) and Berkman.

I heard the guys on 610 commenting on this about a week ago. And Roy did say that he was considering hanging it up after his contract was up...Gotta get his tractor on!...So yea, I'd say he's not going anywhere.

I would like to add Pence to that lifer list also. If Special Ed were to trade Pence, I believe he would have a mini-riot on his hands....lol

I would be ****** if they trade Pence.

This may be weird, but I named my son Hunter (born last year, January), because of the way he plays the game. Some talent, a lot of hustle and a lot of respect.

Watching some of his games in the minor leagues and and reading all the stories and then seeing the way he has played in the majors (plus his 1st of hopefully MANY All Star games this year), I wanted a player my son could grow up watching and learning how to play the game from.

That's how I did it with the 90's Rangers (primarily Dean Palmer and Rusty Greer) and I want him to be able to follow a hard working team and player like that.

So, if he can hear me, ED, DON'T EVER TRADE HUNTER PENCE!!!!

Pence is one of the most exciting players in either league. Plays the game with a passion. The most fun player to watch in the NL imo. and I'm glad I get to watch it every night.....I'm a tad older than you, but I named my daughter Rhyan, only because my wife would not let me name her Nolan...LOL.

Astros exploded for 11 runs last night behind a Pence 2 run blast a Lee grand slam a Blum homer and Tejada drove in 3 himself. This is good to see , especially with Berkman out right now. His no-name replacement Chris Coste don't look too bad either. I've never heard of this guy. If anyone reading this knows anything about Coste, fill me in!...Tonight is Roy O. vs Carpenter, always a good matchup.

Coste used to be on the Phillies.

Glad to be in a 3 way tie for 2nd.

If they can take another win tonight, that puts them only one game behind the Cardinals for the division lead.

And with the Cubs crumbling against the Phillies, maybe the Astros can make it an interesting second half. They have been known to be notoriously hot second half players after all.

Looks like the Astros are on a roll! Beat the Cards 4-3 with a Tejada walk-off single in the bottom of the 9th with two outs! 3-game sweep and now just 1 game back of the Cards! I hope they can keep up this momentum!

    You and me both.

With how crappy most of the division is playing, if the Astros can keep it up, they have a strong shot at winning the division and making some noise in the playoffs!!

Wow, what home stand beat down by the Mets of all teams. I can't stand the mets, or any NY teams for that matter. Even though Pettite lives 2 miles from me, I can't stand the Yankees either. Astros miss Berkman in a big way. I did not think that they did anything special in the series sweep of the Cards. The Cards were just bad in that series!....We need Fat Elvis bad!

Astros are getting smoked by the Cubs 9-0 in the 4th. Only thing positive is they brought in Bud Norris to relieve Hampton and Norris came in throwing 96 with great command. This was a long time coming he is looking sharp through his first few batters
