Tomas Plekanec Re-Signs in Montreal
Glad that they avoided arbitration.
Another put-up or shut-up deal: 1 year, $2.75M. Cheaper than Grabovski! LOL
He is the team's second-line centre for the time being; rumours (in Montreal? Never!) have him being shipped out but we'll see what happens. If he can perform like he did for most of 07-08 he'll be just fine, but if he plays like he did in the 07-08 playoffs and most of 08-09 he'll likely be sent packing.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Montreal Canadiens retain centre Tomas Plekanec thanks to one-year deal
The Montreal Canadiens have avoided salary arbitration with centre Tomas Plekanec, signing him to a one-year US$2.75-million contract.
Plekanec, 26, is coming off his fifth season with the Canadiens, posting his third consecutive 20-goal campaign (20 goals, 19 assists). He was one of only three Habs players not to miss a game through injury last season.
