    Ebay sellers beware!!!!!

Well it seems now that I have been victim of a wonderful paypal claim to which I am going to lose because I have no tracking. Here's the scenario, I think it's a case of buyers remorse even though the price was low, but you be the judge.

On June 14th ebayer panini-em-2008 won 2 auctions off of me. #190313155724 Bobby Clarke Marks of Obsidian #07/35 for $14.50 and #190313155727 Guy Lafleur Marks of Obsidian #19/35 for $23.77.

I sent 3 payment reminder emails that received no response. After 10 days (June 24th) I filed a NPB. A few hours later payment was made. The cards were packaged that night and sent the next day over seas to Germany. On July 14th I received notice from paypal that the buyer had opened a dispute for not receiving the cards. A grand total of 19 days after shipment, of which there were 2 weekends and a holiday. I politely responded to the claim stating the facts and that it can take roughly 4-6 weeks for shipment over seas. Forward to today (7 days later and another weekend thrown in) and it has been escalated to a claim (once again no communication with me) for which I have no tracking info therefore I will lose.

I figured I'd pass along this info to you all just so you are aware and can add this scumbag who refuses to even attempt communication to your blocked bidders lists if you so desire.

Now you know why many ship only within their country. Hate to hear this as it makes more sellers do this which hurts the hobby. Of course you have to protect yourself.

That's paypal buyer's protection. Without a tracking number (which is horribly expensive when you ship out of country) the seller will lose every single time. He has no way to prove that he shipped the items, so it's his word against the buyer's.

doesnt matter if buyer doesnt purchase tracking/insurance. Christmas time i bought a bottle of perfume for my girlfriend off ebay, same deal no tracking or insurance. It was a 100$ bottle of perfume i got for 60$. So i sent the payment and patiently waited a couple weeks then after no sign i emailed him and asked. He said he shipped it weeks ago. I checked his feedback and he had some prior negative feedback on bottles of perfume that sold for cheap, so thats when i got the feeling he was ripping me off. He offered me 15$ back out of 60$ (what a joke) for the inconvenience, so i told em he was an idiot and i opened dispute, and won it in no time. Bottle of perfume never did show up. Paypal 99% of the time favors the buyer

ive been an ebay seller for about a year now

now that I read this, i'm going to track items over $30 going overseas and they can pay for the extra shipping costs. if they don't like it, don't bid, there are enough buyers in North America. seeing more and more listings with this condition.

    thanks for the info.

    This is it.

I've seen a lot of posts from Canadians on here, that complain about American sellers not shipping to Canada, or charging insane prices to do it ($25). This is why. They've lost money on paypal disputes before, so getting an expensive tracking number is the only way.

Not sure what they cost to send from Canada, but I can tell you I used one within Canada not too long ago. Cost me around $8. More than I wanted to spend on shipping?? (it was an eBay auction that I offered free NA shipping on) Yes. Worth it?? For sure. Only way to make sure that you don't get screwed by a dishonest buyer / paypal protection after the fact.

    sorry to hear about this
once i sold a card for around 100 and had to ship over sea and i was gona pay for the shipping with tracking to canada or the us but someone overseas bought it when i went to the post they wanted like 40 bucks so i contacted the buyer to help out and pay half and he stated to just send it regular air mail and he got it fine within 2 weeks btw

tracking over sea is very costly this is my thoughts
