First Post/Current TTM's
First time, long time. Was a huge MLB/NFL/NHL fan in early 90's, collecting cards and autographs, but fell out of it for a few years, and sold most of collection less a few favs like Ken Griffey, Jerry Rice, etc. But got back into MLB a few years back, about 2005, when the Phillies started rebuilding their team into the World Series Champion team that it is now. As a result, I have been starting my autograph collection back up. This is mostly because unless the card is pre '75 or an insert, it really is not even worth the paper printed on and because I still do love it! So I have listed my current TTM and also a few questions. Look forward to visiting this site often.
1. Is it ok to TTM to former players that are now coaches c/o their current team they coach for or manage?
2. My first failure has been Omar Vizquel. Return to sender. Found a couple posts saying he was a huge TTM signer a few years ago, but also found one stating they also got 3 RTS in a row from him as of late. Any ideas or tips?

Welcome! Make sure to check out the new Through the Mail Manager. It's full of addresses and results. Please add to it as well with any success or failures you have had for others to benifit from.
The TTMM (Through the Mail Manager) can be found here: https://www.sportscardforum.com/ttm.php
Use the tabs at the top to switch betweens sports. Click 'recent successes' on the toolbar on the left to see what members have received recently. To add to the database, search for the player, click his name, and click 'Report Success or Failure'. When you do this, the TTMM will automatically begin making a personal summary of your success rate, and comprise a list of who you have received and what requests are still pending. Click 'My TTM Report' on the left side of the page to view this. Theres a ton of good info in there already and the more people add, the better it gets.
Regarding your questions, many coaches will sign c/o their respective teams. Not all however. Check the TTMM for specific coaches or ask around. There are a lot of knowledgable members around who can help you.
I don't know about the signing habits of Omar Vizquel but here is what the TTMM has on him:
https://www.sportscardforum.com/ttm.p...tp&pl=998&sp=2
(One RTS like you and one pending)
Check the TTMM often and feel free to ask others members or myself if you have questions. Welcome again and good luck with your TMM collection!

Also, couple more questions:
1. Does anyone know who was featured on the 2005 Trenton Thunder's tickets? I have a few saved but cannot find any info on who is featured on them.
2.When a minor league players status is Reserve List, does this mean that they're not currently traveling with the team? Was curious since I have a couple players I was going to TTM including Juan Acevedo.
Thanks again.

WELCOME!!! Always glad to have another Phils Phan on board. Thanks indy, I appreciate the accolades on the thread. If you check it out, you will see a few guys there that do most of the posting and have got quite a list of players that we have collected. I mostly send out cards, alcoholics sends baseballs, and druce is a team photo guy. That is not to say that we dont cross over to other things but that is kinda what I have seen.
I live in Reading, PA and try to hit a few games there when I can. I have some good autos from my time there and was also in Clearwater last spring. I have over 150 phils autos and growing, not to mention various eagles, penn st. and others. I would be willing to trade you some autos that I have doubles of. I would have to go thru them to see what is available but Im sure that I could come up with a decent lot.
Please check out my thread and post any successes there. It looks like you have a great start and have sent to some good TTMers.
Ask questions, and ask often. I know the 3 of us are more than willing to help out and get you in the loop.
Antonio Alfonseca, Von Hayes, and Tommy Herr sign c/o Lancaster barnstormers.
Greg Gross c/o LV Iron Pigs
take care and watch out, THIS SITE IS ADDICTING!!!

I was wondering how you got the mulholland. I sent to his bar in scottsdale but nothing came back yet. If you have a double, I would love to trade for it!!!Last edited by propete23; 08-21-2009 at 11:16 PM.

Wow, I must have gotten that Mulholland during '92 season and was at Ballpark, just don't remember if it was pre-grame on the field or post-game on the ramp of the Vet. He was one of my favorite pitchers of all time. Never a 20 game winner but extremely smart and tough pitcher. Sorry no doubles.

Actually, I meant Tyler Green from the Phillies, not Tyler Greene for the St. Louis Cardinals. Does anyone have his address?

check out www.signingshotline.com there you will see many appearances by former and current players in every sport. Click on future events, select PA, NJ, whatever and you will see lots of appearances. Some are free, others you would have to sign up for their service. I know that there is a big show in Bucks county coming up and also a Desean Jackson appearance I am going to attend.
Pete
Hope this helps
