    Talking Advice about Defective Cards

Hope this is the right spot to post?

Finally, I receive my hobby box of Topps A&G 2009, and so far there are some defective cards in each pack. Just my luck.

    Any advice appreciated?

This probably should have gone into the Baseball Card Talk forum, and a Mod may end moving it there! As for your problem. go to the Topps website, and look around, there will be a link to "customer service" or something like that, and they will explain their policy on returning cards! Most of the Companies are pretty good about replacing cards! Take care, Dave........

Yeah, call for replacements. Just keep wrappers, reciept and the box. They might need them.

Just the packs will do I hope, usually they want the UPC barcode on the bottom of the box. worst comes to worse, go to a store and ask for the upc.

you have to send the barcode from the bottom of the box, one pack and the recipt to get replacements. Maybe even all the cards. If you dont have all three, your pretty much out of luck

    Cool,
Thanks. Your advice was right on target. It does seem a strange that collectors have to jump thru all those hoops and cost for replacements. But, that's a sermon for another day.

Cut & Paste from the Topps website:

The Topps Company will replace any Topps produced card that is determined to be damaged or defective from any current-year product (only), while supplies last.

A maximum of 25 cards per request is permitted, and each grouping must be accompanied by the following four items: (1) a letter of explanation, (2) copy of receipt from the store in which you purchased the cards, (3) pack wrappers and (4) proof of purchase (UPC code found on the bottom of the box) sent to the following address:

    The Topps Company, Inc.
    401 York Ave.
    Duryea, PA 18642
    ATTN: Consumer Relations

Topps strongly recommends sending all replacement requests in a fashion which provides proof of delivery, within padded envelopes or boxes.

Please note that The Topps Company is not responsible for lost, stolen, damaged, delayed, or, misdirected mail.

Replacements for eligible cards will be shipped within 2 to 4 weeks of receipt. Any ineligible cards received (or any cards that Topps is unable to replace, for any reason) will be returned back to the Consumer.

    Good Luck.....
