Indy report

Today, the Westgerdes family went on an autograph spree around Indy today. Here is the rundown:

4:45 AM: we get up dressed and ready for Indy. We leave at 5:15, get on I-75 5:30.

6:00 AM: Enter Indiana...making good time.

7:30 AM: arrive at Office Depot for wristband distribution for Tony Stewart...We were numbers 219, 221, and 222 in a stack of 350. (someone needed a diaper change.)

8:00 AM: Office Depot opens. We get wristbands and a wireless mouse/keyboard package because HP doesn't think to add a $3 brace for the mouse/keyboard ports.

8:30 AM: McD's for breakfast...and a mini Beanie Baby.

9:30 AM: Head to Kroger's for Kasey Kahne. get wristband for Kasey. Get in line...and wait....and wait...and wait.

12:30 PM: Kasey comes in the store. Signing starts.

1:00 PM: We get to Kasey's line...one auto per person. (Sorry Bernard.) No personalization. Kasey signs my Mopar diecast before I can say "Silver Sharpie on windshield" with black Sharpie on hood...right on the Mopar logo. Kasey, after realizing his goof, offers to take a picture with the three of us in the photo. We accept and have the picture taken. (It will be put up tomorrow.)

1:30 PM: We leave Kroger's and after realizing our wrong turn on I-74, get corrected and head back to Office Depot again. We arrive at 2:00 PM.

2:00 PM; We hit the Office Depot trailer, get some freebies, and head to the line again. And wait...not as long.

3:10 PM: Tony arrives fashionably late...again.

3:20 PM: We get Tony's sig...one per person. I get my BK die cast signed on the windshield in silver. Lauren get a hero card personalized to her, and Angie gets a hero card personalized to C.J., C.J. was in our wedding as a ring bearer and is a HUGE Stewart fan...the only thing is that he doesn't know that he's getting this yet. We leave at 3:30 PM.

4:00 PM: We arrive at the Discount Tire Store for the David Ragan signing with a nice surprise...the Pimp's favorite driver, Erik Darnell, and Jeff Hammond are signing there as well. David's AAA die cast is signed, again silver on the windshield, three signed hero cards (one from each driver), and three "To Lauren" hero cards (also one from each driver). We were done in twenty minutes....record time for a signing.

5:25 PM: After getting lost in Indy for an good chunk of an hour, along with driving in a steady rain, we come upon our last stop; Casey Mears. Again, the usual success; signed die cast, Silver on the windshield, "to Lauren" hero card, and a auto'ed hero card.

6:00 PM: We head home...we arrive at 9:00 PM.

10:00 PM: finish taking pics of the booty today and setting up the new toys for the puter...

12:30 AM: finish this report...and get ready for work in the morning...

I will post pics of the swag tomorrow after work. What a day...I have the feeling that I owe Angie a zoo trip in the future.

thats a busy schedule! i dont like indys track but id definately go haha i was gonna go to either michigan or indy and i picked michigan cause i like the track better. congrats on the autos especially the stewart! very cool.
