More Impressive: A Perfect Game or a Quadruple-double

I would say a perfect game even though I am not a baseball fan...and even though you see it more often then a quad double, you have to factor in the number of games that are played in baseball compared to basketball and I think that point is scratched

There is just something about a perfect game that makes it feel like the impossible is being done when it happens

Exactly, pay attention to the question. What is more IMPRESSIVE? And things that usually impress me, are things that usually happen less often, and it's been 15 years since we've seen a quad-double.

And seeing as how, the 3/4 guys are Centers, we may never see another quad-double again since there are not that many great Centers in the Game anymore.

Another interesting fact to think about how difficult it really is to get a quad-double, is that there's only one player who averaged a triple-double, and that's Oscar Robertson. You would think with so many triple-doubles, he'll eventually get a quad in there, but he never did.

Quad-Double cause there isn't as many people that have done it.

i disagree, i say perfect game, because with a quad double, you are relying on only the other 4 players on your team. with a perfect game, in addition to you pitching fantastically, you have to rely on the 8 guys behind you to also be flawless- then you have to count on getting 9 professional hitters to fail every single time they come to the plate, with no exceptions...

again, not taking anything away from a quad double, its absolutely amazing, but it can be achieved more individually than can a perfect game, and for that reason, I say perfect game

I think getting a quadruple double is a lot more difficult, how often do you see people get 10 or more blocks or steals in a game. Now only is they counted turnovers . The only way I see this really happening in the present is again with a game that goes into multiple overtimes.

For those arguing that this can be done as an individual, do you think that a person can get 10 steals or blocks by themselves?? I highly doubt that without a teammates helping its even possible.

A perfect game is a lot easier just in that its on the pitcher mostly; if the pitcher has all the pitches going really well they can dominate, with just a little help in the field by the rest of the team a perfect game is within reach. The pitcher can really control the game, if the pitcher can get 27 strikeouts then the rest of the team isn't really needed.

You forgot to mention that the assist needs someone else to make the basket

Someone said something about in the 40s when assists/steals/blocks weren't recorded...well, lets take since the first quad double was recorded - 1974 - and there have only been 4 quad doubles since, while there have been 9 perfect games pitched - but, baseball has nearly double the amount of games played per season, so if you were to double the NBA games, there would be 8 quad doubles - virtually the same amount in the same time period. Another thing to contemplate is the fact that pitchers only play once every 5 games, whereas NBAers play every game...just another thing to contemplate...

I really don't know which one I think is more impressive - I'm leaning more towards a perfect game, because it is perfect, although quads are so infrequent, and I just remember getting so excited when CP3 was 3 steals shy of one last year...so, I'm undecided at this point. :-)
