    Affliction 3 Cancelled

    http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/aff...-trilogy-18705

It looks like Josh Barnett's positive steroid test killed this event. The rest of the fighters who were on the card can't be too happy. It doesn't look like Affliction will be back to promote another event.

Well to be fair, UFC usually get their drug test results back in after the event, such as in the case of Barnett/Couture and Sherk/Franca.

Affliction holds their events exclusively in CA, so they are subject to stricter drug testing from the CSAC.

****, sucks to hear. Affliction and every other promotions will always play second fiddle to the UFC. Hopefully, they'll promote more fights, if not, we may expect to see Fedor in the UFC soon.

fedor in the ufc is almost eminant in my opinion where else could he go, dream? he gets at least a million per fight he took 2 mil plus a piece of the payperview from his sylvia fight, nowhere will pay even half that

    Affliction is dead.... R.I.P

    MMAWEEKLY.COM

I think Fedor in the UFC has a way bigger chance than before, but far from 100%.... Lets not forget that, that man has sat out for Long periods of time before, and someone like dream could get him or M1 themselves could promote events w/ them

MMAWeekly is suggesting that some of the fights from Affliction Trilogy may make it's way to the Aug 15th Carano/Cyborg card due to the Afflictions relationship with Strikeforce..

UPDATE - MMAWeekly is now reporting that Affliction is done as a promoter and has now rejoined UFC as a sponsor. I still wanna see that Tom Atencio vs Dana White fight though.

This week was a giant clusterf**k for MMA. I mean, you got stupid stuff like Kimo dying and coming back to life; then you get the cancellation of alistar/werdum, the entire Affliction Trilogy event, and now Diaz/Riggs. Yeah, Strikeforce is gonna need to borrow a few fighters from the Affliction show.
