Taking over a Sports card business. Need some ideas. CONTEST!

Hello all. I am new to the boards. I am taking over a sports card shop that has been in business for 19 years. It has a decent core collectors and a handful that are pretty heavy on the wax end. My lease starts August 1st. I know that in order for a card shop to be successful, I must provide excellent customer service, give great deals, and do work online.

I want to know what brings you to a card shop. Is it good value on wax, certain single cards for your collection? Also I would like to know if your local money pit has any special times for their customers like pack wars, trade night, or if it offers to watch movies or games?

Any and all help will be much appreciated.

Now onto the contest. I need a good name for the shop. It is currently named after the owner's children. He said if he had to do it over again he would name is the name of the street its on -sports cards. However, while I do want sports cards to be the focus of the shop there is a group that plays Magic. Also my shop will have supplies, mini helmets, photos, team sets, sets, plaques, etc. I will make it worth your while if I end up using the suggested name for my shop. Say your choice of $50 or a decent card of your favorite player.

I moved it to the Card Talk Forum.

As for what brings me into a shop. I dont want to walk in and see a box of Murad for $90 when it can be bought for $40-50 and stuff like that. As for a name...

    Collector's Corner
    (your name) Sports Cards
    Sportscards Plus

Be good to your customers and have competative prices and good deals. I had a local card store I would frequent when I was a kid, and the owner always gave me first choice on any Shaquille O'neal cards that were pulled/traded/sold to the store. I thought that was awsome! Although I'm sure that would be harder to do now. Thanks!
