Nice! I think we sorta talked about this before. When are you going? I might be away at that time, but I can still give you some places to visit.

The West Edmonton Mall has a lot to see and do it self, like ride in a real submarine. If anything, check out the statue of Gretzky at Rexall Place.

I lived in Edmonton for 5 years. These are the 2 cards shops that I would suggest to go to:
1) Wayne's World located at 17020 90 Avenue NW. It is in a Strip Mall beside West Edmonton Mall. I would also suggest the OutBack Steak House that is located behind it or in front of it, depending on which way you are situated.
2) West's Sportscards located at 7818 - 118th Ave. Phone Number is 780-477-2102. This was the one that would go to as I lived in the NE side of Edmonton. It is located in a strip mall, just before Rexhall - which is the location that the Oiler's play. This part of the city is not what you would call high end by any means, but the people in the area are nice.
The best way is to goggle your location, though Edmonton is one of the easiest city's to get around in as the streets run north and south and the avenues run east and west.
I only got to Wayne's World a few times. But, it was selected in 2007 or 2008 (can't remember the exact year) as the top sports card shop in Canada and I also believe in North America.
As for other shops in Edmonton, I would not recommend them as these 2 are the best. I hope this helps out.

Check out Wayne's as its right across from the Mall, amazing place and very friendly. The Mall is pretty busy at all times so I would avoid it for the most part, other than giving it a walk through once. The waterpark in the mall might be worth checking out or if your into roller coasters go and ride the Mindbender.
If your there on the 29th, the Eskimos are playing at Commonwealth, and if you are there on the 26th, and feel like spending a ton of money on buying scalped tickets, AC/DC is at Commonwealth (I somehow got row 8 floor tickets of ticketmaster, I'll be heading up from Calgary).
Lastly if you want to check out the night life, head to Jasper Ave (downtown, north side of the river) or Whyte Ave (82nd Ave, south side)

Thanks Everyone
Schedule has changed about 6 times so far but so far right now, it looks like I am heading up there on Aug 20th and staying until Spet 8th.....Like I said - I will be working so Aug 20th to Sept 5th I will be working until 7pm (everyday)......I will have a few free days before heading back so hopefully I can check out a few places. I should be located at the West Edmonton Mall so I will probably walk portions of it for the first week...
Is Waynes open past 7pm?
How far away is Commonwealth from the Mall? I wouldnt mind watching a game....
I love Steak so Outback is a definite hit (I am also assuming its the same Outback I have here in LA)
Rexall Place....How far from the Mall? Definitely want to check out the Gretzky Statue...We have one of him in front of Staples Center too....
I am also going to South Edmonton (not sure exactly where yet) in October so if I miss anything this time around I can see it then.....

Not sure when Wayne's closes, probably 8. I don't live in edmonton only been to Wayne's a few times. 780-483-3177 is the phone #
The Stadium and Arena are not close to the mall (although they are close to each other). They are more on the east end of the city, but there are many bus routes that will either take you there, or a bus that will take you to the underground train stations which will take you right to both Rexall and Commonwealth. Edmonton is not that big so it doesn't take terribly long to get anywhere, and the traffic is not crazy (nothing like LA). I'd highly recommend taking in an Eskimos game (bad team, but cheap tickets, good fun), if it works out with your work schedule.
As for Outback, its a pretty common chain up here, I'm sure there are better steakhouses in Edmonton, especially if your going to pay 20+ for a steak. Might have to do a little research but its the best way to enjoy some Alberta beef.
