Andy Delmore Signs With Wings
Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - The Detroit Red Wings have signed defenseman Andy Delmore, who last played in the NHL during the 2005-06 season with Columbus.
Delmore spent the past two seasons in Germany, notching 19 goals and 47 assists for 66 points in 103 games during that span.
The 32-year-old veteran has appeared in 283 NHL games with Philadelphia, Nashville, Buffalo and Columbus. He has compiled 43 goals and 58 assists for 101 points.
During the 2002-03 season with the Predators, he led all NHL defensemen with 14 power-play goals.

I wonder if the Wings are going to sign him, then put him on waivers again like they did before the start of the 05-06 season.

I think he will fill the role of backup puck moving D-man in case Raflaski gets hurt. Other than that, he should plan on being in Grand Rapids.
