How Has the Spending Affected You?
Nearly everyone is complaining about it, and rightfully so, but I'd like to see how it really affects you (essentially, if you even have a reason to moan). Really not much on which to elaborate, so I'll begin:
1. I'll have to convert to EMRs by 2012. Cost: $25,000 (before government aid)
2. Private insurance companies becoming competitive with government insurance. If it wasn't for private insurance, I wouldn't have a job, plain and simple. Government-run insurance would mean I'd have to update a lot of software. Oh wait, I have to do that anyway for electronic billing! Cost: $20,000.
3. The above will greatly affect my bottom line (duh), meaning my annual bonus is basically diminished.
Now, I think I've earned my right to complain. How have you?

The main road to my house has been under construction for about 5 months (was only supposed to be 3...imagine that, the government being wrong and inefficient) fixing something that really didn't need fixing in the first place. So driving an extra mile 2 times a day for about 280-285 days...560-570 miles...around $136. The increased taxes haven't started yet...

My company won a bunch of stimulus work so I guess I am on the other end...for now

That's technically not part of the stimulus though...that's the gov "cracking down on shady" credit card practices (ie them doing what they told you they'll do if you're late with a payment).

New way of making money on customers that actually pay on time. Saw it on a news story a months back. Credit card companies are shady in general w/ their business practices.

The government is basically forcing this. They made the credit card companies reduce penalties for people who are late on their payments...the CC companies lost a lot of money because of that...they have to make that revenue up somewhere, so punish everyone instead of just those that are delinquent. Thank the Obamastration for that one.

No disrespect to city depts. but I have found road crews and city service workers to draw projects out as long as possible. I imagine if they were salary then stuff would get done alot quicker.
