New R. Lee Ermey Starts Tonight

For us Weapons Enthusiasts, Jar Heads and Rednecks the new R. Lee Ermey series "Lock & Load" starts tonight on the History Channel. I have been missing this guy since the original series "Mail Call " went off air. This series looks as if it is going to be just as good , if not better. So, "Don't Touch That Remote Maggots"...Lock & Load starts tonight.

Oh nice! I was just quoting some "Full Metal Jacket" the other night with my wife and I had the hardest time trying to describe to her who he was. I'll have to check this out.

This is from the History Channel's website:
On each episode of Lock n' Load, R. Lee Ermey takes us on a fascinating ride through the pathology of a featured weapon: where it came from, who thought of it, who improved it, its victories, its defeats, its impact on history and where it is now. R. Lee doesn't start at the beginning. He launches each "Connections-type" journey with that weapon's most modern iteration: for example, unleashing a maelstrom from a Metal Storm gun at one million rounds per minute, then weaving the machine gun's history across the hour, skipping through decades, centuries and milestones as required.

I like the sound of that, love learning the history of things. I hope they do older weapons too, not just the new stuff...would love to hear about Colt, Smith & Wesson, etc.

Thats one thing I miss about the Army trigger time at the range. I remember they would drop off a pallet of 5.56 and the fun would start. The M60 was a blast and the 50cal, well that baby is in a class all by itself. Looks like the History channel has a mailcall marathon going on right now.
