    Need Some Moral IP Advice

So I live in NYC and it happens that Johan Santana lives in a nice, new building just around the corner from me. One of the doormen from my building works there sometimes and says he see's Johan often. I was talking to my mom about autographs and how obsessed I am, and she said maybe i could leave a ball and pen with the doormen and ask if he would get Johan to sign it. Do you guys think that would be okay? Would they do it for me? Just want a little imput from the IP World so I don't embarress myself.

    Thanks,
    Isaac

Eh I'm kinda torn over it. I feel like there is no harm in asking, but I also feel like it may be the kinda thing the guy could lose his job over. Worth a shot to ask though.

Yeah, the doormen wouldn't let you in if you don't live there anyways lol. Sounds like a good idea. But it could take a while. But it'd be worth it.

Wow, never thought of that. If the doorman was to lose his job i would feel terrible. Maybe i should stick with waiting outside, or just asking the doorman if he can find out if he's allowed to ask for an autograph?

I think your best bet is to wait outside. Then at the very worst you get rejected, but more likely you get the autograph. That way you don't involve anyone else but yourself, which is probably safest for everyone.

Good idea. Thanks for the help. Do you think i should ask the doorman if he knows if Santana signs for fans or not?

If you know the doorman I don't see the harm, but if you don't know him well and let him know what your intentions are, he may tell you you can't do it. I think it depends on your relationship with the guy. If its good, go for it.

I'd ask to see if he signs outside.

or write to him- simply explain that you live near by and would love his autograph- and see if he is either willing to send you something TTM, or is willing to sign outside, and then just keep an eye out for him
