Suggestions For TTM Database
No complaints about the TTM Database, just a few suggestions:
1. On the "Player List" page, can you place bookmarks for each of the letters of the alphabet, so if you wanted to search for a group of players with the first two letters "Ta", you could just click the "T" and shoot down to the "T Section".
2. Can DOB be added to players? Example, there is at least (2) Joe Morgan's. A DOB would make it easier to determine who is who. DOB's can be found on the back of just about any trading card.
3. In addition to DOB maybe a "Team" or "Active" or "Retired" status can be added to distinguish between say an "Active" Derek Bell or a "Retired Derek Bell.
4. How about a "point" or "star" system or another way to clearly identify a current good TTMer? This is dependant on users actually updating each time they receive back. This could be great to shy away newer folks from being discouraged because they tried to send to a HOFer from the 60's or encourage some of the more experienced pro's to chase some white whales.
5. Just one more quick one... why are "Deceased" still listed on database? I the departed should be removed or placed in a separate section. Unless I am missing something here? Is it common to send fan mail to the families of deceased players in hopes of receiving something in return or is it to just send good will and spirits?
Love the TTM! Thanks for listening.

1- if you want all the players with "Ta", just type that into the search and it will bring them up
2- completely agree with the additional tags such as "retired", "active", "HOF", and individual teams. and maybe a search function to narrow down by those tags
the ttmm is just in the early stages and I cant imagine all the cool things that can/will be done with it. really loving it so far

Thank you for the ideas on the TTMM. The star system or something similar to show activity on a name in the last month is a good idea. The reason that we leave the RIP players is two fold. The first is that we want people to realize that they have passed and not mail to them. It is easy to see those addresses on other sites and it would seem cruel to me for the family to still have envelopes coming in after the person has passed. We also track success rates here and by deleting the person from the system would delete the successes and effect members percent of success! The active or retired I would hope a fan would know that, but the DOB is an interesting idea.

Just thought of two more:
1. If you are adding a new address to TTM database, can you be forced to list success? It seems that peeps are adding addresses they are find elsewhere but are untested or they are having success and just not taking the extra time to update.
2. Can there be a way to search for recently added addresses? I realize if the first suggestion is implemented, there will be no reason since the new address will automatically list in recent success if date is current.
Thanks again.

I would like to see a search tab for Failures in addition to the successes. That way we can see who is not signing as well.

I think being able to search a player via a team would be great. Is there a way that teams can be added in a drop box when adding a player's address to the database?
