Nationals Showoff Thread!

I know there are several members who went to Nationals or are going to Nationals this weekend so I thought it would be nice to see what everyone got in one thread. Prices are always nice to see what you stole/overpaid on!

My father and I went today, and I thought I did pretty well.

The first guy I went to, I spent $20 for the following cards that are all for my PC:

Not big name guys by any means, but Gomes is one of my fav. current players, I've always liked Greene (even tried to convince my wife to name our son after him, but had to settle w/ one of the dogs getting the name), Melville is from a town pretty close to me, played against Pickering for a year in indy ball, and I needed the other two for a ref. set.

The next guy I went to, I spent $40 and picked up some PC stuff for my basement and son:

Huge Cardinals fan, so 3 auto's will look nice in the basement, matheny is one of my top 3 all-time players (remarkable person to top things off), maddux in my opinion is one of the greatest pitchers to ever play the game, and the last card is for my son. maybe paid a little too much, but when its for your pc, its ok to spend a little more.

My last purchase for the day, since I couldn't find any 08 bowman chrome prospect refractor cards, were some boxes. the first box i opened was a greats of the game from 06. i pulled a jack morris gu, then a will clark auto that he enscribed with will the thrill, then a ryne sandberg gu'd auto card #'d 1/30, and finally a tony gwynn gu'd card. Considering that gwynn is one of my top 3 fav. all time as well, and the clark and sandbergs are unique, i thought it was a good box.

i then opened an 09 bowman, nothing spectacular, just the norms out that one.

i'll let ya know if i get anything good out of the final box (08 chrome)

I opened my last box from yesterday's show pickups, unfortunately nothing new that I needed, however, I did pull an Austin Jackson Xfractor Auto. Not too bad.

We also went back today, I found another Refractor auto from the 2008 bowman chrome prospects, julio borbon. I then purchased another box of 09 bowman (baseball). I did get a gold refractor of a prospect, but nothing too special. I was excited that I have a near complete set of 2009 bowman from opening only 2 boxes. i am 16 short on the regular, about 10-18 short on the prospect, only a handful of the world classic, and quite a few from the chrome. not a bad weekend for us.
