Personal Checks?
Are they a safe way to get paid for some cards? Just wondering if anyone has had any problems taking a personal check from someone after they sold them something.

One thing for sure, which you might already know, you have to wait until the check clears your bank to make sure the funds are there in the person's account. Usually that takes 4-5 business days or something like that after you deposit the check.

Yeah. Thanks. I'll wait until the payment clears before I send the cards. Thanks.

agreed, just wait until it clears and you're good. I've always taken checks from ebayers and have only have one issue. However when i had the bank rerun the check it went through.

I have no problem taking checks from senior members in good standing, most others paypal/M.O.

if it does bounce, you are responsible for the check fees, because usually you wont get it from the person that issued the check which can be 25.00-50.00 for NSFs

I don't have a problem accepting checks. I prefer those to online payments. The nsf odds are so slim that if you add up all the fees of online payments like paypal, you will always be ahead. Money orders are a good way to go, or cash!
