im a banker for one of those evil national banks

I have a question. I think I know the answer, but want to get it from the horses mouth. During the past Hurricane we endured here on the Gulf coast (Ike) and previous others. When people are told to evacuate they start hitting the banks to get the cash they need to do so. The banks, most of them, were only allowing people to withdraw $2,000 cash. This was infuriating to alot of folks including myself, since it is our money in the that bank. If you had a large family to evacuate for no telling how long, $2,000 ain't gonna get it!...If you did not have a credit card, I guess you were just screwed...I think I am going to withdraw all my accounts, bury it in the yard, that way I know I'll have all my money available to me if I need it!...Probably safer too!

Let's put it this way: I went to three different employment agencies today, and I plan on going to more this week.

probably a different topic all together but here are my thoughts.... first off, the 2K per customer thing... banks dont keep nearly enough money on hand to do anything different. We ask anything over a 2K withdrawal to let us know a week in advance to get the money around. If you took your family and headed north and could find another branch you would have been fine or use a debit card and it solves all that.

Second, If you are seriously worried about it being in a bank at least open a safe deposit box and put it in there... we had a customer recently who buried money and someone saw him doing it and stole nearly 30 grand from him... not smart at all...

Anyways, if you have any questions about banking shoot me a pm or post a new topic as this is about peoples jobs...
