I think the patch is fake. The Lakers never had the white uniforms when Magic was still playing. Not to mention where you'll find a patch like that off of a Lakers jersey.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too, also, I don't think there was the Lakers logo on the uniforms back then. Then again, it may not be a actual game-used patch and maybe a manufactured one.

Who knows, if it's fake, somebody just bought a $400+ paper weight.

man, counterfeiting is running rampant. It's a shame that every beautiful card like this makes us second guess.

I just wonder though, how can anybody fake these kind of cards without seriously damaging it?

See don't have an eBay account...'s Items on eBay

When I read the title for this thread I expected to see something real sick. I wasn't disappointed either. But isn't it sad my first thought after I saw that patch was "Is that real??". Isn't that so sad...?
This is 1 reason why my collection is 95% pulled. The other 5% is when I'm not lucky enough to pull an autograph card of a player I want. Like from 08'09 Topps they had Derrick Coleman autograph cards in it so I had my hobby store buy 1 off eBay for me. But I would NEVER buy any kind of patch card on eBay because I'd always fear it'd be tampered with even in the smallest way, you know? But I'm pretty poud that my collection is pretty much box pulls or card pickups from a hobby shop...

If you were to ask me, I'd say it is fake.

    Come on Laker guys! LOL

It's a patch from the shorts but much newer than Magic's era.

I have no idea if the older shorts had this or if they were ever issued in white.

    update :
Here's Magic in the newer unis but you can't see the shorts.
Either way they material still wouldn't be white. :(

I'm leaning towards manufactured or maybe a white warm-up or...???
