Rangers Let Zherdev walk...Heatley Move ?

New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has exercised its right to walk away from the arbitrator’s award to Nikolai Zherdev, thereby allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent..........

wow, that means my collection of him is up FT....which is only 2 JSY's and 2 RC's lol, i wouldn't mind heatley but i'm happy with gabby as long as he stays healthy.

who would the Rangers give up though? I hear that San Jose is in big talks, with Heatley its either Rangers or Sharks. I'm hearing Sharks offering up Ehrhoff, Cheechoo and draft picks

Which reportedly Ottawa has no interest in accepting - lots of talk about a 3-team trade involves the Canadiens somehow. If anybody wants to take Plekanec and/or Hamrlik off our hands, that'd be fine.

Ottawa does not have many options at this point, it's getting close to what Buffalo had to settle for when they moved Hasek for Kozlov

yeah, Ottawa brought up Ehrhoff in a possible trade but would want a different winger than Cheechoo

i've heard Boston getting involved and dealing Kessel's rights to San Jose to make a deal for Heatley work.... but what I don't believe with San Jose is that I recall a statement from the GM Doug Wilson stating something to the effect that no one would make more than Thornton in San Jose... i'm I correct on this or no?
