I'm going to type this out just in case somebody (usually me) is too lazy or just doesn't want to watch the vid. When you log on to the CARS.gov website (I wouldn't recommend it) and try to submit a transaction, this is the disclaimer you get:

This application provides access to the DoT CARS system. When logged on to the CARS system, your computer is considered a Federal computer system and is the property of the U.S. Government. Any or all uses of this system and all files on this system may be intercepted, monitored, recorded, copied, audited, inspected, and disclosed to authorized CARS, DoT, and law enforcement personnel, as well as authorized officials of other agencies, both domestic and foreign.

That speaks for itself...who's going to defend that?

Is this just if you are applying for cash for clunkers program? or is this with any transaction on cars.com?

Sorry, it's CARS.gov, not .com. He didn't mention what transaction he was referring to, but as you said, either way...

yeah I don't think anyone in their right mind would defend this. It's rediculous to say the least and just another way for government control.

Hey Log into our site to see if you qualify for the program and in the mean time "we own your computer and everything on it" ...

    Naaaaaaaaa, No thanks!! I'll pass

I will try to defend it. :)

The only rationale I can think of is that there will be some massive fraud with this program. I expect a few months from now that newspapers will investigate and find out that millions of government money was stolen in this program. With that disclaimer they have the right to track down people.

I'm not for it, but this is the only reasoning I can think of.

The cash for clunkers program is about vote-buying and the labor unions.
