Records are made to be broken: Bill Mosienko's Fastest Hat Trick Ever

One of my favorite pieces of NHL Trivia.

Will anyone ever break HOFer Bill Mosienko's record for fastest hat-trick?

On March 23, 1952, playing for the Chicago Black Hawks, he scored three goals in 21 seconds against the New York Rangers.

I don't see how this is humanly possible.

That's impossible to accomplish in the NHL today, unless Ovechkin starts juicing it up. That's one record that will stand the test of time.

Heck no! 3 goals in 21 seconds by a team would be nearly impossible, let alone by one player! That is just insane!

I don't consider it impossible. He was able to do it, therefore, someone, in some time, should be able to do it again quicker.

Whether it's going to happen in our lifetimes is another matter.

no, its hard enough for a player to just get a hat trick in 21 seconds is just insane thats 7 seconds a goal (I wonder who was playing goalie for the other team when this happened?)

    only way would be

first goal - tiebreaker near the end of a game
    second goal - empty net
    third goal - emty net

i think it could happen some day

With the defensive minded (boring) hockey they play today. This record will not be broken. Unless, the reward goals for shoot outs...

I agree this is probably the only way it would happen. But still, the odds would be ridiculously long on it happening.
