Swine Flu makers dodge liability with waivers.

Vaccine makers and federal officials will be immune from lawsuits that result from any new swine flu vaccine, under a document signed by Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius, government health officials said Friday.
In order to avoid having prior knowledge of possible harm to users of the product, for which they could be found liable, it is in the manufacturers' best interest to know as little as possible about adverse reactions caused by their product.
But the H1N1 flu has only caused 302 US deaths though CDC estimated over one million Americans had been infected. Instead of 70%, H1N1's death rate is under 0.03%. Therefore, this virus in no way justifies the risks the population is being asked to take: receiving vaccines.
Wonderful!!! I know it's going to be a battle with my wife if this stuff starts to hit the market to not vaccinate my kids, but I will keep this article handy. This is scary!!

JERUSALEM (AFP) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday ordered health authorities to buy up swine flu vaccine for the country's entire 7.5 million population, his office said.

Ridiculous...along with the fact that swine flu has yet to kill 1/10 as many people worldwide as the regular flu does each year in the US alone!

As far as I know there was no breakout in 07, there was an alert issued in the Phillipines in 07 after backyard pigs started getting sick but nothing ever came out of it. The only major outbreaks were in 1918/19 and 1976 and of course this last one 08/09.
