Why dont card companies....
Why dont any card companies release a high end product early in the season. Basically after the season is over we get spa, nt, and exq. Contenders is late in the season. If a company released a high end product now it would make a killing i feel like. I know playoff absolute comes out soon, but i dont really consider that too high end, as far as individual values go. Does anybody else feel the way i do?

Sounds pretty reasonable to me, I agree. Maybe they let the higher end things go after these early releases as somewhat of a warmup or appetizer. lol
But I was thinking that there are indeed a few that may like the early season releases, but many probably look to buy them because they just want to get their hands on something new for the year. Then it seems less valuable as the season goes on for the most part, and the things that hold the most monetary value are from the products that come out a lot later than these early products.

I'm thinking that they wait till later to see which rookies they should highlight in their sets.It would make no sense to put out one of these high end products and have the poster boy rookie be a bust.

Personally that would make the sets hold higher values. Say if someone did really well and they didnt have a jersey auto card - it would make the card hot no matter what.
It would also be nice to look back on, as a set builder to see what the trends were years later as you come back to look at it.

Its all about money, Football collectors look forward to products like SPA, Contenders & Exquisite the most, and they'll buy the products whenever they're released as they are the best of the year. So, why would you release your best product first? then the collectors wont get the "urge" to open other products which means less money for the card companies

My idea is similar to gladdy's.
During the regular season collectors are more active and willingly buy lower priced stuff. During the off-season their needs to be more draw and attraction. The allure of hitting an SPA 1/1 auto/patch RC of the top rookie of the season is a much bigger selling point than at the beginning of the season.

Good example, Ryan Grant is another.

I'm sure this was covered... but you'd hope that the super high-end stuff would have on-card autographs... and it'd make sense that the companies have to wait a few months for all of these autos to get back to them in time to be placed in product.
