    Real or fake? Mantle Style!

Hey guys and gals, I'm considering sending this in to get authenticated, but dont want to waste $100 to get it rejected. I need some opinions
    1. Real or fake?
    2. Is it worth it to get sent in because the ball is not in perfect condition?

    The Auto:

A dirt stain on the ball (very hard to see in the pic, but not amazingy noticable in person):

Some damage from the case it was being held in:

Its pretty close, here is a pic of a certified one:

But like you said, it seems that mine has more of a space between the c and the e in Mickey.

it looks a little off to me. The "M" in Mickey does not even look like it is connected to the "I". Also the M and the A in Mantle are not connected either. I am almost 100% sure it is a fake! Good luck!

I don't think anyone here can say for sure if its real or fake. If you're keeping it for yourself and don't care, don't spend the money. If you are looking to sell, you definitley need it authenticated no matter what. Without an authentication you won't get anywhere near what you would if it had one and if does turn out to be real and it sells low, you'd be very dissapointed.
    Where's you get it BTW?
    Good luck!

agree 100% with Alex- none of us are capable of judging, so any opinion, even a good one, shouldnt sway your decision. If you plan to sell, authenticate it, period- too many fakes out there not to
If its for your personal collection- then dont bother with the authentication, unless its important to you personally

I don't know where it is from... My dad gave it to me.

I was thinking about getting it authenticated then selling it, but it seems like people think it's fake so there is no way I'm spending $100 to get it authenticated.

Ask him if you get a chance. That might give you a better idea of its possible authenticity. No offense to anyone, but I would get a professional opinion. Every autograph does not look exactly the same so I wouldn't say just because its look slightly different than another that its a fake.

Send it in. I had a DiMaggio sig I posted on here and asked for opinions and the majority said it was fake. I had it looked at by JSA and it is authentic. As AHarvey said, nobody knows for sure.
