Redemption Policies Suck!!!!
I don't understand how card companies can put expiration dates on redemption cards. I bought an 06/07 Topps Chrome Basketball box today and got a Josh Boone redemption card that was expired. Now I am not that out about a Josh Boone autograph but obviously they only can put redemption cards out for as many cards as they get signed.... Why should there be an expiration date? If this was a Bird autograph I would be crying right now.... Has this happened to anyone else?

you know its a 50/50 if you send in an expired redemption they normally send you something back so it never hurts to try whats the worst that can happen.

I remember a couple years ago on the beckett board, someone pulled a Jordan auto redemption out of a 02-03 product(SPx i wanna say). After lots of phone calls and emails, Upper Deck ends up sending him 3 $8 GUs, a scrub rookie auto, and a pack of 07 upper deck football. I felt sorry for the guy.

As far as I know, Topps no longer compensates expired basketball redemptions at all, they'll just send your redemption back with a expired stamp on it. But who knows, they might send you a Chrome base rookie of Boone for your troubles...

That's why the retailers mark down the boxes after redemptions expire. Those "amazing deals" aren't so amazing if you do your homework.

I wish they'd mark them down a bit more. LOL
I still like alot of the 02-03 to 05-06 stuff and will grab some boxes here & there. I'm just not looking foward to pulling a MJ or LJ redemption that's expired.
I agree, there should not be expiration dates on these. I would buy so many older products if they didn't expire.

a lot of it has to do with the fact that most companies will used stuff from expired redemptions to fill holes in their redemption program. If player A wont sign anything, they need to have something on hand to send to people who get the redemption for Player A- and thats where a lot of the old redemptions go to. They also use them for promo work, or to compensate people who dont recieve the guaranteed hits in boxes, and complain about it
