questions 2 u
Just curious about a few things at your local shop.
What are you're favorite boxes?
How much do they cost?
Do you buy Singles,Boxes, Or packs at your LCS when you make a trip there?
What could your LCS improve on?
What is a great thing about your LCS?
Thanks!

favorite boxes: well dont buy many boxes, dot have the funds, but of those i have i would have to say 09 bowman draft
cost: $60 lcs, $40 online
singles, boxes of packs: well i always buy a couple of packs, but if i have the moey and it isn't extremely marked up i'll buy a box. wont get singles from there, they price them at high bv and then have a sign on the cases saying 40%, 30%, or 20% off this case, and most of what they have i can get off of ebay for 40-50% high bv including shipping
improvements: They need to lower the mark up on boxes, 08 SPA was like $150 and contenders $160, i understand they need to cover more overhead than online but i think if they had lower their prices a bit they would sell more, i didnt get any spa or contenders simply because of the price being way too much. they also need more mid-highend, its like once they get their first shipment theydont order any more, but always have the lowered-end stuff and always have press pass se. I went in once seen they had a box of 08 ultimate didnt have the oney then but was gonna get one the next week when i went, well it was gone and they told me they werent gonna get anymore, and then tried to sell some packs of absolute for $35 a pack, and when i told them i had no interest in that, especially at that price, they tried telling me it was pretty much the same thing, lol.
positives: its great having somewhere to go and just grab supplies when i need them, not having to order them and then wait like i would from an online store. And even if it isn;t always the best selection, makes available hobby products when i get tht urge to open something so im not stuck with only retail. The best part of my LCS is, its in the mall, so when my fiance wants to go shopping i at least have something to look forward to and when i wanna go convincing her to go is REALLY easy since she'll also get to go shopping, its a win-win situation.

1. I don't bust much, mostly buy singles.
2. They are marked up at least 50% at my LCS
3. I don't buy cards at my LCS - I only buy supplies now and even those are overpriced. I just go there because I don't have to wait on shipping.
4. Lower their prices.
5. It's close, so if I really need something, I can get it right away.
I don't know how they stay in business given their prices. It's ridiculously higher than ebay (singles) or blowout or dacardworld (boxes).

1. Haven't bought too many boxes there because his prices are a little high on boxes and cases but I did get a nice Donruss Classics box from him last season.
2. Read #1 again - too high normally by around $10-20 compared to online prices.
3. I usually buy supplies and packs when I go and check to see if he's gotten any nice singles for my PC's (walked out with a HUGE stack of Oswalt's one day).
4. His prices on his boxes. I understand why he sells at the prices he does, and I'm grateful that I do get a small discount because I frequent his shop a lot, but if I can get it online for $10-20 cheaper (including shipping) then why would I buy a box from him? He does offer great discounts on singles though, just the box prices are killers.
5. The great thing about my LCS is the owner and the other guy who works there. They are great guys, nice and cordial and love just talking sports. Me and my best friend have gone in there before on a Saturday, bought some stuff here and there and ended up spending hours there just chatting with the owner about this or that. That's the kind of customer service and personal touch you just can't get from an online store and that will always keep me going back.

We don't even have a shop here :( I stick with singles though, but it is nice to bust a box here and there.
