Topps '52 (original 1952) Question
I just went out to antique shop during lunch and found several Topps '52 cards..no major find...like Yogie, Eddie Matthews, etc...but other commons non-the-less. The price on them ranged from $30 to about $75...
The Beckett value for most in the set commons is $30-$60...of course the cards aren't mint. They are yellow, discolored and have faded borders, some bent a little with creases. Print registration is off on some of them as well.
I've never dealt with the older cards so how does the value/condition work on these.
There are also some smaller "tobacco-style" cards as well.. and other Years.
most of the cards are 1950's
for example a couple of the cards are-
Bobby Avila
Sam Jethroe
there was a Pee Wee Reese, but can't recall the year.
Would any of them been a good deal?

It's really impossible to say without knowing more details. The '52s sounds like they're overpriced but if they are high numbers than they might not be. Reese could be a good card, but it depends on year and condition.

I agree, and watch out for counterfeits as well.
