I think it would be funny if the Lakers did a sign and trade with Malone to Memphis or Denver......

Just funny....humorous to me....Malone making demands and Lakers do it and turn it around on him....my sick sense of sports humor.......

here is my spin on it, I think malone will stay in utah, I don't believe the Ring is as important to him as being the all-time scoring leader, or he would have made those demands in utah...

he knows that if he goes to LA, then he will never get enough touches to get the record... and then people will see how much of a cry baby he is...

L.A. Times is reporting that the interest by Payton into becoming a Lakers has heightened -- please see my Official LA Lakers Thread for more info, as I posted an article there, and don't want to post a duplicate here

As far as Malone staying in Utah...I think that all depends on Stockton....if Stockton plays another year, then I could see him staying...if Stockton retires, there's no way Malone stays as there's no twosome that can run the pick and roll like Stockton/Malone...

Tony -- Stockton quietly announced his retirement just days after the season was over for the Jazz, after the loss to Kings in play-offs
