So the Magic took a team that made it to the NBA Finals, dismantled it, and replaced key pieces with players that have questionable character or players well past their prime?
Not sure I understand that philosophy.....but as a Cavs fan, keep going Orlando! Keep making these moves!

they got destroyed by the lakers in the finals bro, they had to do something with boston, and cleveland getting better. imo i like this team on paper better then last years team, but its all about the chemistry, if they can play together they will be ok

That's fine, but the fact of the matter is that they GOT to the Finals. And a main reason was Hedo. Who they let go. Courtney Lee? Someone who showed a ton of talent, and if I recall, most Magic fans were in love with his game. Gone. Then they pick up an old Vince Carter who isn't exactly a 'team player'. Jason Williams? Really? He's better than Rafer was? Not ever.
I just don't understand why they felt the need to blow up big parts of their team/future for older guys who have never been team-oriented. The Magic keep taking steps back, and as mentioned, as a Cavs fan I love it, but I can't see how even Orlando fans can try and twist these moves this offseason into a positive. If someone were to try and tell me Vince Carter is better than Hedo at this stage in both of their careers, they're crazy.

This is a great addition to the team. He is one of the best guards out there, when he played. He is quick, he is a good scorer

Hedo was not the main reason they went to the finals. Hedo had his great moments and won a few great games. But in EVERY game, he would make floppy ugly shots, make horrible passes into the crowd, and just did horrible plays each game at least two or three times. What got them into the playoffs and finals was heart, determination, and team effort.
I didn't want the magic to trade away C.Lee, and I was angry when I found out, as I liked how he played and saw a TON of potential with him. Oh well, he's been traded can't do anything about that. Rafer Alston was just a temporary back up for Jameer, Rafer was not going to be with the magic after Jameer came back so that doesn't matter.
Vince Carter was an amazing addition to the magic, I see 5 strong years left in him, and then he will start declining, but 5 years is plenty.
I am a Laker and a Magic fan, and seeing what the Magic have done with trades and new signings I like the new line-up.
And yes, VINCE IS BETTER THAN HEDO. I would take VC over Hedo ANY DAY, ANY TIME.
We will see who comes strong in the East, the Magic are the team to beat, Lakers also; and not just because they were in the playoffs last year, but because of the new line-ups...both teams are going to be amazing.

The only reason, and I truly mean ONLY reason they are the team to beat is because they are the defending Eastern conference champs - the Celtics and Cavs both beefed up their offenses more than Orlando did, IMO. Neither Boston nor Cleveland lost key pieces from their teams last year, and they each added good players (CLE - Shaq, Moon, Parker; BOS - Sheed, Daniels) whereas the Magic lost 2 good players and only added one (Hedo, Lee; Vince)...but, that's just my opinion.

Vince is not better than Hedo. Hedo's defense is better than Vince's, Hedo's all-around game is better than Vince's, Hedo's heart is better than Vince's, Hedo's unselfishness is much better than Vince's. The only thing Vince can do better than Hedo is flat-out score...and that's because VC doesn't like to be a team player and just loves jacking up shots.

I would disagree. Again, it's just my opinion, and I accept your own opinion. But I think that Vince has the better offense, and defense between both players. Vince has heart, just hasn't had a team to show heart with. With him being in Orlando, we will see Vince give his 100%. He is a team player, you will see this season, that VC is a great team player, and he won't be selfish. Devin Harris in NJ averaged 21.3 PPG, so Vince was not a ball hogger nor jacked shots up.
Hedo is a whole different topic. He isn't all that great that you make him out to be, but then again, that's the way you see it. I see Hedo as being a guy who can play basketball. But he is no star who will make a team better, he is not one who is a force to be reckoned with. He is just a good player, who can shoot and run the ball. You will see his flops, and horrible passes/turnovers this season.
Stats-wise, Vince kills Hedo in PPG, and RPG. With APG, Hedo is .1 higher than Vince. VC is not a player who is out of his prime.

Yes, Boston has acquired an amazing team this offseason. And the Cavs have a strong team but bleh lol
The Magic have traded a few good players. But have signed/traded for some great players. With getting Vince Carter, it cancels Hedo out by a long shot. Courtney Lee was a great player, and I am disappointed in having him traded, but it's not a HUGE loss to the Magic. Alston was only a temporary replacement for Jameer. With Tonie Battie leaving, the Magic now have Brandon Bass and Matt Barnes
great backups so that cancels out the big men the Magic lost and some for Hedo since Barnes can play at just about any position minus the Center and be very good. With Jason Williams coming back and being Jameer Nelson's backup, that would be great if white chocolate comes back strong. Mickael Pietrus will probably be starting, and he is a very solid player--when he played in Golden State he was a BEAST!
And a few other players who I haven't mentioned.
As you can see, the losses the Magic have had have been replaced with great additions. The Magic will be the team to beat not only because they are the reigning Eastern Conference Champs, but because they also have a great line-up.
Only time will tell and we will have to wait and see what happens with these three top teams in the East--Orlando, Boston, and Cleveland.
Anything can happen, and I am waiting to see what does.
