Ebay fees
I just got started selling cards on ebay. I'm getting annoyed by all these fees though. Is 8.75% a lot,can I sell them in other places at a lesser fee? Its not just that fee though its also the cost to list and then PayPal takes a cut.

You can sell here and the only possible fees would be if the people paid using paypal, but then again selling here is almost pointless since everyone wants a huge discount, most common reason is, because according to them they shouldnt pay ebay prices cause your saving the all the fees, so they expect to pay like 20% less than the lowest selling price they could find on ebay. Then ALOT of the time if you say no thanks or i'll pass they WILL start to insult you and call you all sorts of fun names just because you want market value for your cards.
In my experiences your better off on ebay, yes theres all the fees ut your cards are also available to may more people and you have a good chance at leat 2 people will bid each other up on your cards and even have the chance of getting more than current market value, where as here your only dealing with one person who generally acts like theyre doing you a favor by even talking to you about buying your cards and youll never have multiple people bidding each other up, EVER.

LOL! Agreed with pretty much everything you said. There are some people like myself that will buy stuff for what it sells for on ebay. With rather give money to other members than random ebay people. But Ive also tried selling here when I put something for $30 and get offered $20. Then but it on ebay and got $40-50. So either way can be good, as long as you deal with the right people

... This is so true!
My favorite SCF buy/sell scenario goes like this:
Seller: I'm looking to move this for $30
Buyer A: I could offer you like $20
Seller: I could maybe do $25 delivered, but that's my rock bottom
Buyer A: Nah, that's too much man
Seller: No problem, $25 is the very best I can do
...
...
Buyer B: Hey, I will give you $22 dlvd paypal right now.
I've never seen so many people who are willing to squabble over 2 or 3 bucks. It's like that embarrassing friend who, when you go out to eat, wants to leave a $2 tip no matter what the cost of the bill.
Unless you're desperate, sell it on the bay!

Love the thread and this is definately true. If i was selling i would be able to do a lil less then ebay to save on the fees, but not as much as people want you to do on here

Sure, there are many sites that can help you sell cards. Most smaller sites have somewhat lower fees (and often times higher fees), but they don't have 1/10th the tracific of ebay which extremely important in moving inventory. On the other hand, auction houses, have a MINIMUM of 20% buyer and seller premiums.

I often think of it this way, if someone offered you say $30 but said that it would cost you $6 you would pay that $6 no problem....as it is with me & Ebay
