Perfect for IPA?
I have noticed that there are a few notable players in this years Cup release that have Cup Foundation patch cards but due to whatever reason do not sign with UD. However the layout of the Foundation card IMO seems absolutely perfect for an in person auto.

Now, I'd like opinions here as I've though about doing this for awhile, but what is the general consensus with getting high end cards signed in person? I understand if it is PC it does not matter, but I am talking about overall perception. What value trade wise would you put on a nice high end card with an IPA? Higher or lower in terms of value? Would you do it if you had the chance/ your PC guy did not sign for a card company?

First: would he sign the card you give him?
Second: although it may look nice on the card, wouldnt you maybe have something else he should sign, that would have more worth in the long run.
Third: If you want it, can afford it, Do It!
Fourth: What would Jesus do?
Ok, the fourth, i was running out of ideas, but my overall opinion is:
I would not have the #/10 Patch card signed by him.
I would keep the card for personal collection, and have him sign something personal to myself.
This is coming from a Parise Collector that lives in Minnesota, less than 45 miles from him!

Guaranteed lower value from me.
The only reason I'd do it would be obviously if it was for my PC forever and if the player NEVER signed cards for a manufacturer EVER.

Overall perception, the value will decrease. That said, it would be nice for the pc

I keep plain white patch cards for this reason. No one will treade squat for them. I see your point of the card appears laid out for a signature. Personally I prefer signed jerseys (the whole thing) to frame & display.

If it was for your PC..... I'd say 'go for it'. Those cards.... I think you're right..... they seemed designed perfectly for it.
For re-sale though, I've always played with this rule: If you get the card signed, you are now trying to sell (or trade) the autograph, not the card.
Having said that..... I'm sure a Cup Foundations card with an IP auto on it would fetch more in trade or sale value than a common from 07-08 Victory :) I would expect that the card would remain more valuable, on the secondary market, without the auto though.

My thinking on a specific set like this would be that provided the certification is there, i.e. an actual picture of the player holding/signing that specific card, it essentially becomes a pseudo-1/1. A card with a low print run like that separates it from the hundred victory rookies player x has signed.
I think to an extent the UD guarantee is what gives the auto value, however we all know the reputation UD has. IF the low numbered card, like the Foundations Patch, shows undeniable proof that the auto is legit, is it feasible that the card could reach the same levels of value as if it was pack pulled with a sig?

A lot of collectors are pretty specfic when it comes to certified autos. You can have a picture of Zach holding up the card with a big grin on his face after signing it but it still likely wouldn't garner the same dollars as the certified auto'd Cup Foundations patch /5. Nature of the beast and all that.
I've generally stuck with lower-end autos on cards, but I must say it does look really cool to have an IP auto'd Ultra Uniformity jersey card. They also had a nice big area for Josh to sign and he took full advantage. LOL I would say go for it if it's for your PC. Heck, even ask Zach if he'd sign his full name on there and make it a truly awesome card.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I'm still saying, probably not. All the evidence in the world that points to the auto authentic..... for a lot of people will not replace the gaurentee by Upper Deck (or ITG, Topps, whatever) on the back of the card.
Like I said before..... I'm sure that the value of the card would still be pretty good. I just don't think it'd be as high as you'd probably like (as it would be, if it came signed in the pack). If it's something for your PC though, I still don't think it matters.

There is a #/5 version that is signed. the #/10 version are unsigned.
