Graded cards weren't really a big deal back when I was active in the hobby, but I'm assuming for older cards the cut doesn't have to be perfectly centered to be a 10? It sure looks to me that the centering is a little to the right on this card. It's a little easier to see on the back.

Am I saying it's not pristine? No. Am I saying it's not an amazing card? No. Just would have figured a "10" would be centered enough that it wouldn't be noticeable. Granted I am a big ignorant when it comes to the practice of "grading" a card, so maybe it's just me. lol

You bring up a great point. One that I overlooked. The centering on this card should not be 10. No way. You can clearly see the centering is off on this card. When I see a card slabbed in a "pristine" case I don't expect to see imperfections. ESPECIALLY when I don't even have the card in front of me to examine.

Does Beckett seal the case the card is in? I have never seen a graded card in person, but expect that there is some tamper proofing in place?

Yes - the only way (that I know of) to open them is to break them in one way or another.

Gotcha. Figured it was something like that...thanks for the info.

There is a 10 graded by PSA of the rookie sticker in that Fleer set on Ebay. That one actually looks centered and all the edges look very sharp.

Funny thing is I bought a box of those in `86 and made a set and had 4 extras of the Jordan rc and sold them all. Most I got out of one of his rc`s was 47 bucks. Makes ya sick don`t it. I know a guy who has 18 unopened boxes who won`t get up off one to save his life. Guess I can`t blame him lol.

Haha, I know right? Back in the late 80s my older sister was upset that my dad would buy me cards all the time and not her. So my dad picked up a box of 86 Fleer for her. She made a complete set with two Jordan RCs.

My dad can't find the two Jordan's but I did find the complete set minus that card. He put them somewhere "safe" but now can't remember where that is. lol
