Life without Eli stinks!
Renewed my season tickets once again this year for University of Mississippi football. Last year with Eli was our best season in over 40 years when Archie Manning was there, but last nights game was absolutely terrible. We have a new quaterback named Michael Spurloc who can supposedly run a 4.2-40, I don't believe it or why is he not a WR or RB because he sure can't throw. 5 yrd passes were bounceing to the receivers and he was running all over the place and throwing it into the crowd. It was terrible, but we managed to pull out a respectable 20-13 LOSS (it sounds better than it looked). All I can say is thank goodness for Johnathan Nichols (last years Lou Grozza winner) who kicked a couple of field goals to keep it close and 1 was over 50 yrds. It isn't going to be a great season and I just hope we can pull out a trip to Shreaveport (Independence Bowl the worst bowl game an SEC team can go to), but there sure isn't the excitement we had last year when we won the Cotton Bowl, had a Heisman contender, and had the National Championship in our sites before loseing to LSU by only a field goal.
I love college football!
Just had to get that off my chest!
