It will happen, Lebron or Kobe will do it because they have been in the league since they were 18 and will most likely play in every game they are available in for a while. Unless one of them gets hurt, which I doubt.

medical advances is the main reason I voted yes. Injuries that used to require months to heal in the 60's and 70's now take much less time.

No way. Even LeBron and Kobe get games off at the end of the season b/c they are un-important. No one will ever break this record.

Just so you guys realize, this is 1192 straight games without missing a single game, that they would have to play in - or, an equivilant of over 14 1/2 seasons without missing a single game...

nope...as cautious as teams are now with players they rarely let them play through too much. Also many star players sit out the last game of the season if it means nothing to their playoff seeding. If it gets broken i will be surprised

I think this can be done. Though Green's record is not that old, tarheel mentioned how players today have the advantage of even more health and injury assistance than in years past. It'll probably take some time, but I can see a player sometime down the road beating this.

I say heck no - this is the equivilant of Cal Ripken Jr's streak in baseball - 2632 straight games for him, and 1192 here, which would be about 2380 straight games if basketball seasons were as long as baseball seasons...I would honestly be shocked if this was ever broken, or even close to being broken.
