Heard this on the radio this morning.... good for him, I guess. It's a no lose situation for the Leafs: Let him come to Training Camp. If he's good enough to make the team, they've got another offensive player (and they're REALLY lacking in those). If he can't cut it... well.... send him on his way.

Slow as all **** but if the price is right you have a near point per game player that can fill a 3rd or 4th line.
Just don't ask him to chase down Ovi on a breakaway or anything ;)

I guess Burke figures that if Allison can put on a show at camp, then he might be willing to offer a two-way contract. But with the amount of centremen on the Leafs including prospects, I can't imagine him even playing 3rd or 4th line centre. If anyhting, I would imagine the contract would have to be a two-way because if he begins to suck, Burke has to be able to call up a replacement.

LOL didn't know H E double hockey sticks was frowned upon here, my bad.
The two way contract would be key for those exact reasons. He certainly isn't old and if he can still play then he would be an asset on either club as long as he is willing to assume that role. Look at Mike Keane in Manitoba, or even closer to the Leafs home, Bates Battaglia.
Will be interesting to see how it plays out, just wish he had some speed in those legs.

I wish him the best. A nice surprise for the Leafs if he makes the club.

Given that Toronto has AHL calibre forwards, almost all the way through the depth chart, it's a great spot to try and make a comeback. I wouldn't be surprised if Theo Fleury tried to make his comeback in Toronto as well.

I used to love watching him play in Boston with Anson Carter. Another really great player that could have had a much better career if not for all the concussions.
